COP21 will
take place in Paris from 30 November to 11 December 2015. Here is a list of
different EU grants available for protection of the environment and fight
against climate change:
- LIFE: the programme is dedicated to environment, biodiversity and climate. It is split into two sub-programmes:
- Sub-programme for Environment:
- Environment and Resource Efficiency
- Nature and Biodiversity
- Environmental Governance and Information
- Sub-programme for Climate Action:
- Climate Change Mitigation
- Climate Change Adaptation
- Climate Governance and Information
- HORIZON 2020: EU programme for research and innovation, pillar 3 “Societal Challenges” supports projects in different areas, more especially:
- Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy
- Smart, Green and Integrated Transport
- Climate Action, Environment, Raw Materials
- European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD): the fund intervenes in rural areas for promoting sustainable management of natural resources and climate protection
- Cohesion Fund (not all EU countries are eligible): the fund supports sustainable development in a general way, for instance in transports and energy
- European Regional Development Fund (ERDF): the fund supports investments for transition to a low-carbon economy
- INTERREG: according to the different programmes, a grant may be awarded to transnational partnership working on a project for transition to a low-carbon economy or management of natural resources as an example
- Connecting Europe Facility (CEF): CEF supports projects in the field of energy which aim to “reach EU objectives by 2020 in climate and energy, address financing needs and remove bottlenecks” (only “Projects of Common Interest” can submit applications)
