My job

                                                                                                                          FRIENDS season 4 episode 12

I’m not Chandler Bing, but my job might still be rather obscure for some of you. Through this article, I’ll try to enlighten you.

First, what is the name for this job? Well, you may find different names for quite the same thing: EU projects coordinator, EU project leader, project manager, etc.

If I had to sum up my job in one sentence,
I would say that “I help organisations (i.e. non-profit organisations, businesses, local authorities, etc.) get EU grants in order to set up a project and then to manage it”. But it’s still a summary.

For example, if an organisation has a project idea but doesn’t know how to set it up, I’ll help them to develop the idea, to identify relevant fundingopportunities and then apply to these, and finally I can support them withproject management.

I’m particularly specialised in EU funds, but sometimes I can work with national grants or grants from charities. Thanks to the academic training I undertook at the University of Picardy Jules Verne in Amiens, France I’ve learnt project development and management techniques. That’s for this reason that this blog could be split into two parts: one part about the EU co-funding programmes and another one about project development and management.

Above all, the aim of this blog is to show you that my job remains accessible to every organisation wishing to develop its ideas into a project from the beginning to the end (European projects or not).
